PostDoc (m/f/d) for Information Theory of Energy Efficient Communication Systems
Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional candidate for a position as post doc with extraordinary knowledge in information or communication theory. Your tasks include carrying out independent research in the field of future energy-efficient communications :
- Information theory for energy efficient and complexity-constrained communication systems
- Information theory of multi-user complexity-constrained systems
- Communication theory for new energy efficient communiation systems
The research topics include the mathematical analysis of novel communication systems and possibly also the software implementation of simulation and evaluation programs. Besides this, you are responsible for the publication of your research results in scientific journals and conferences. Besides your research activities, we actively support you in building up your own individual teaching activities. You will be closely involved in the supervision of PhD and M.Sc. theses and can actively steer the research activities of the lab. At the CEL, you can expect an international research environment with exciting topics circling around the future of telecommunications.
Contract Details
We offer full-time temporary employment (100%) with a salary at pay grade TV-L, E13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
You are in possession of an outstanding PhD degree in electrical engineering and information technology, applied mathematics, communications engineering, computer science, or a related degree with a strong publication record. You have additionally profound knowledge in information theory, communication theory, and/or coding theory, are fluent in spoken and written English (knowledge of German is not necessary, but considered a plus), and you are able to work independently and responsibly. Ideally, you have experience in programming. You have confident manners and are professional in dealing with project partners, students. You are a team player and you are equipped with organizational talent.
